This notice explains how the private practice of Mr Deepak Komath (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

• Website usage — if you consent, the Meta (Facebook) pixel collects limited information about your visit to help us measure and improve our advertising. It does not run unless you accept cookies.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry and arrange your care — performance of a contract / steps prior to a contract, and our legitimate interests in running the practice.
• To provide healthcare — for special-category (health) data we rely on the condition of provision of health care and treatment (UK GDPR Article 9(2)(h)), and your explicit consent where relevant.
• Advertising measurement (Meta pixel) — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Sharing

We share information only as needed for your care and to run the practice: with the CQC-registered hospitals where you are seen, and with service providers acting on our instructions (our email and website hosts). If you consent to advertising cookies, the Meta pixel shares limited data with Meta Platforms. We do not sell your data.

Keeping your information

We keep clinical records for as long as necessary for your care and to meet our legal and professional obligations — for adults, normally at least eight years after the end of treatment [exact retention policy to confirm] — then securely dispose of them. We keep a secure, confidential record of treatment and outcomes; any information used for teaching, research or publication is fully anonymised. You may opt out of that use at any time — just tell us; it never affects your care.

Your rights
